I really thought I was done, but after seeing Bill's great capture of a Hoodie preening, I had to go back to some that I taken but hadn't processed.
This one is a very heavy crop. About 30% of the original is left, where the original is already a 1.5 crop in camera. I didn't want to crop any more, so I hope the composition works on this one. I have room all around, so feel free to chime in. I didn't find the reflection interesting enough to keep.
For a big crop it stands up well Miguel and I do like the active preening pose. Lovely lustre quality on the water and liking very much the way both water and backdrop meld together seamlessly so to speak. I see why you cropped as you did as the reflection though interesting is not the perfect mirror image style...however I find the comp in frame could do with a little more canvas on the bottom
A very nice preening pose, color and bg. I could see a bit more room on right and below. I like the idea of trying a bit of selective sharpening, particularly around head and bill area. It paid off handsomely to go back for another look at photos.
