    Sanjeev,

Nice in-flight shot. I like the side lighting (front for the bird), as it highlights the head, feet, and leading edges of the wings. Unfortunately it also highlights the OOF left wing. Increasing ISO and stopping down from f/6.3 would have helped with this.

    Sanjeev,

I like the use of light and shadow - nice gray tones in the image. The bottom edge is the opportunity here - I find it distracting (but I am torn here) lets see what other say.

Just curious when you pan where are your hands on the end of the lens or towards the camera body?

Thanks Jeff, I it might look better without the grey strip at the bottom, my aim was to add a bit of the habitat but the OOF habitat does not add much I guess. I hold the lens at the tripod collar with the lens foot in my palm for static birds and BIFs, is that right or wrong?
    Regards
    Sanjeev

Since it appears that the horizon is a little crooked, I think the bottom should be cropped. I think taking a bit off the top may also help. It's a beautiful capture and the light on its face brings out its details wonderfully!

Try holding the lens at the very end cupping it in your hand. Pan with the bird and have fastest shutter possible. I get focus with center sensor, start shooting and finish thru the shot and look for a winner. I try to get the sun and wind at my back.
