    This is composite? I sandwiched one image focused on the male duck with another image focused on the female. I made a BG copy layer of the sharp female image and reduced the opacity, erased the out of focus female and then flattened. The light was harsh, so I lost some whites in the male.

    Greaet job in the composite. You can take some texture from other feathers and clone it in the burnt space.

    I too like the composite. You created a quite-believable image that allows a great comparison of the male and female. As Fabs said, a bit of cloning would help with that blown highlight area on the male.
