    Default Reddish Egret With Catch

Got this guy last year on the west coast of Florida. Forget the exact location but some where near Fort Myers. I could have watched these guys fishing all day. Canon EOS 1dMK4, 600mm, ISO 400, f/7.1, SS 1/1600. I wish I could see both eyes a little better but I think the story is still pretty strong. My 2000th post, thanks everyone on this forum for your support and encouragement!

Good light quality. Action is excellent. Focus is a bit lacking. Looks like critical focus is on the neck/chest area.
I like the tight framing as it enhances the action.

Great portrait shot whit a fish, Nick. I would rune one more sharpening on the head/beak only.

Hi Nick, congrats on your 2000th milestone, and hope you go on to many more. I like the scruffy feather detail on this fellow, and how you have focussed on the feeding behaviour. I agree with Shawn that the crtical focus seems to be on the chest. Im fine with only seeing one eye with the pose as captured. Comp wise, I would crop up from the bottom, and add to the LHS. I feel you could also run additional NR on the BG.

Congrats on your 2000th post and appreciate your valued crits and participation. Cool shot of the feeding action and the pose is great too.. Some more sharpening will help. Great job.

Love the action and the "Lions mane"! I agree with more nr on the bg and a little more sharpening on the bill/eye if it will take it!
