    Default Pacific Gull (Larus pacificus)

Got the chance to have a go at some waders on Saturday along the beach, tide was not favorable or the time but when you only have a very small leave pass you take what you can get.

I used Matt Jones idea with the boogie board seemed to work well so will give it a go at my local swamp over the weekend.

Nice one Charlie, the exposure on the hard whites is handled well and i do like the powder blue backdrop, particularly with a hint of wave action, composed in the frame well and nice head turn as well....I really dont see much to improve upon, nicely done.

That is the most massive bill I've ever seen on a gull...wicked!
Beautiful bird, well captured. I like the low angle shooting perspective.
I could see another version with just a few of the darker pebbles/beach debris removed...but minor stuff.
Also wondering if f8 would have extended critical focus enough to cover the feet, which appear to fall
just outside the zone. I like the bg foam/waves in the water...added some nice texture.
