I was going through some old files this weekend, and came across this image of a White-faced Duck, that I had processed last year, but not posted. Although not quite winter yet, I am looking forward to going back to this location to have another go at these guys. Taken early morning at a local pond in Pretoria.

Great shot Stuart. Really like the pose with the feet hanging and the full up wing position. Exposure looks perfect and the white on the head looks great. Nice feather detail and colors of this species. I like the water color too. Well done

So good in so many ways. The quality of light, exposure work, sharply rendered details, and lovely striations in the watery bg are key selling points to the image imo.

    Hi Stuart,
Very nice! Good IQ and whites are well exposed.
I really like the water color in this image.
    Perfect wings up position.
I might sharpen the eye area a touch more.

Absolutely superb, great exposure, clarity detail and colour. Composition good and a super background, wouldn't change a thing!

    Stuart:

All mentioned, but I love the various patterns here, feathers, the streaks in the water, etc. Very nice techs. It really jumps out!

    cheers

Well done Stuart, the duck pops from the bg which is great with the waves running the same direction as the flight. Very sharp and a fine wing position.
