This is always a really tricky species to compose for. I was happy with the way this one turned out.

    What a stunning species eh?

Stunning is right! What a beautiful bird!

The colors, pose, vertical Composition everything works. The catchlight and the perch are also perfect.

Wish I could see it larger.

If it were mine, the only things I would change is the lower longer twig , I would remove it and the little wider crop (My opinion). The bird seems crammed for space near the tail, I agree its a difficult composition. BUt its just too close to the tail tip for me.

A truly gorgeous species. Nice perch too. Yes, tough to compose but you've done admirably. I see some merit to Amol's suggestions above, but it's a beautiful image as posted. A bird I'd love to see some day.

The lovely moss on the twig nicely offsets the "weight" of the bird, and the color adds as well.

I don't mind the lower twig, as it adds something in the lower part of the image, but it could go either way, removed or not.

The bird feels like it's leaning a bit backwards, although it may not actually be. If you have any extra room from a crop, maybe a slight CCW rotation is something to look at.

Beautiful capture Glenn, beautiful light and gorgeous subject. Agree wit;h Diane about a slight CCW rotation. But it's stunning as is. Very well done!

A gorgeous bird. The colors are amazing, and it works so well against that BG. I like the vegetation on the perch.

Wow, Glenn! Another stunner here! I think you did well with the composition, I wouldn't change a thing about it. Catchlight and shimmering plumage are amazing.
