Nice sharp image, and I like all the details of the water droplets. The comp works well but for me the BG is pretty distracting esp the dark spots. I am not much into working on images, but I would blend in the dark spots if this were mine.

    Dan:

Great details from the D800 once again. Very sharp.

I agree with Marina about the dark spots, and I would also be tempted to soften the gray blob above the birds right wing.

    Cheers

    Randy

Yes to very sharp. Easy to lose the dark blobs with a 40% clone stamp brush. The 2 1/2 grey/white circular blobs are also distracting,

Wonderful incoming flight shot.Love the symmetrical wings, nice details in whites and tail feathers.
Agree with Marina about dark spots at the top in the BG.

    Thanks for the comments.
Alas, the BG is a Duck pond with a lot going on. I cleaned up some stuff, the dark spots are tree trunks,
    The white blobs are gulls.
Randy, I wish for more good duck BIF photos!
Wigeons are as hard as Buffleheads, tough to expose and fly really fast.
    Fun to photograph!

Hi Dan, this guy really pops from both the screen and the BG - good head on capture. Overall tack sharp, and a little suggestion would be to crop a touch off the top ( that would rid you of the 'darker blobs' )

Sharp flight shot, very nice job with the autofocus work. The background control issue(s) have been
pretty well covered, and are indeed the weak spot(s) in the image.
