Dave Woeller was gracious enough to be our guest judge for this theme. Here are Dave's picks:
1st Place - Judy Howle - Cardinal on Crepe Myrtle.
The subtle use of several textures and the balance of the Cardinal with the Crepe Myrtle pods combined with the curve of the branch through the frame gives a wonderful presentation. The Cardinal pose is fabulous.
2nd Place - Paul Lagasi - Red Eye
Several members went with the minimal approach to the "Red" theme. This particular image provides a subtle yet powerful presentation of that theme. From the soft ripples of the water to the inclusion of the red eye in the reflection it is a classy presentation.
3rd Place - Anita Bower - Red Camellia
The bold color in the stamen blending into the soft red petals of the bloom are both soothing and powerful at the same time. A wonderful choice of processing techniques have been incorporated into this fine image.
