This image was taken this morning at Roodekoppies dam in the Northwest Province of South Africa.

    ISO were set at 400
    Aperture Priority at f7.1
    1/3 underexposed
We were on a boat and I used a tripod with a Gimble head.
    Shutter speed 1/600

These are such gorgeous little birds. You've captured the almost neon-like colors well. I just might have wished for a bit of head turn. Surprisingly sharp given the SS, lens, and from a boat to boot.

Amazed you got this at 800mm from a boat ! Glorious colors and the strong colors exposed quite well, liking his perch as well, but I'd be inclined to crop a bit of the stump to just above the out of focus knobby bits = small nit pic. Liking as well the smooth backdrop and gradual color change in it

Lovely bird, perch, BG and colors are outstanding. Wish the bird's face a little more toward the viewer.
