    Chilkat Eagle Preserve, Alaska | November | Canon 1D4 | Canon 600mm f4 IS | 1/1000, f5, ISO 400
When ever one eagle had a salmon, others would swoop in and challenge the bird with the fish. The challenger almost always won. Often the defending eagle would jump into the air, invert with talons towards the challenger, and occasionally in such a way would keep their fish. The funny thing was that there was no lack of fish, so there seemed no logical reason for them to take each other's.

Great action captured. Ideally I might have wished to see the lower bird's eye a bit better; but just to capture this interaction is amazing.

Great timing indeed, the Eagles over there just don't know how to play nicely it seems judging by the amount of fighting images I've seen on here.loving those stretched out talons !

Nice action captured, especially at only 1/1000.
Higher ISO and SS would have been nice.

DYnamic image. Excellent exposure work given the off light angle shooting perspective.
The advantage to practicing fighting/stealing probably pays dividends when the food source
    is scarce....
