The eagle is great, nice pose, detail. The drift perch is excellent. I like the inclusion of the habitat, but because of the high contrast, the shadowed area in the drift at the top really jumps out. I would consider softening the shadow a bit there.
You could certainly crop this image a lot of different ways. I could see a pano and a vertical option.
Loving these eagles on snow. Love the environment. Nice job on the exposure and the pose works well. I agree the shadow is a little strong and it wouldn't hurt to subdue it a bit. But I really like this image!
You are really nailing the exposure on these. White on head and white on snow have excellent separation. Love the small-in-the-frame bird, looks like she's surveying her landscape. It is a less dramatic image than many of your fight images, but I like it just as much for the great feel.
It is a very nice different Eagle image and the exposure is perfect.
It would be a major change to the image, but I think removing the shadow would look good.
I have been tinkering with crops on this and come to the conclusion ...........you did it right. Nice one Gail .......and I'm ever so envious of the Bald Eagles over you way
Hi Gail, I like the feel this one has. Gives the impression that she is looking over a vast winter wonder land. The eagle is exposed well, which you have got down, and the details are still clear even at a wider crop. Nice scene. Well done.
Hi Gail, you couldnt have placed the BE in a better place as presented, and I do like the shape of the snow perch. Yes, exposure on the BE spot on, sharp, and your rework on the BG in your repost has really improved the overall image.
Hi Gail. I love LOVE the space you included in this shot. It's so much more interesting than a super tight crop. Including more space means organizing more space - not always easy to do - but you composed it perfectly. I also like the sun angle slightly off center here, with some shadow on the back of the bird giving a greater sense of volume and depth.
