I'm not sure if it was a good decision to shoot with a 300 lens since I had the 500 at hand as well.
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl:

Nice down the barrel pose, great eye contact. Very painterly background. Did you have to do any work on it?

In a perfect world, wish the light was a bit more even on the bird.

    Mice for bait?

    Cheers

    Very nice Karl.
    I like the layered BG.
Tack sharp and a great" down the barrel" look at the snowy,

Your BG is just terrific here. Loved the painterly effect, and the layers and their colors. Very nice flight shot, esp considering I remember you don't bait, so not an easy capture.

    Thanks Randy.
If I recall right, I had to do very little in the background. It was a bright distant OOF post or tree trunk right above the head that I smoothened out.
One gentleman whom I don't know, did the feeding with white mice. I happen to have been there with many others whom I also did not know, and took advantage of his feeding. It was a very cold day fo sure.

I would be ecstatic with this.
Great head on look, in a perfect world the light would have been more even,
But an excellent snowie flight photo.

Karl, beautiful shot, sharp eye contact, and lovely BG. I feel the shot a bit tight, do you have more canvas?

Very nice shot Karl. I like the head on and the tighter crop accentuates the owls stare. Hard to get both eyes lit on any owl shot especially in flight. Great BG this just enough blur to make it a smooth look at the environment. Well done
