Photographed this Wood Stork pair giving each other a little luvin' at Ding Darling a few years back...as you can see by the Canon 30D...quite a number of years back! It is obvious that I was clueless about exposure at the time and photographing in aperture priority mode. Thank goodness I learned manual the next week. Thought this would be a fun picture to share on Valentine's Day!
Canon 30D, Canon 300L F4 IS & 1.4 TC @ 420mm
F5.6, 1/4000sec, ISO 320, Aperture priority mode
Nice interaction captured, Marina.
Manual exposure or aperture priority are both good if you know how to use them.
Aperture priority mode is good but I prefer manual exposure mode lately.
Wood storks are so ugly (at least the heads) that they are kind of cute? Good interaction, like the red feet.
Just for personal taste I would probably crop down 1/3 of the sky, but I am not that bothered by squarish crops, so sometimes influences how I judge the crop.
Well timed shot, the bird on the right certainly looks to be enjoying every minute of the attention. Exposure doesn't look too bad to me, the whites are not blown at all, dof looks very good......maybe crop a little more off the top imo
