    Default Snowy Egret Foraging

Snowy Egret Foraging by Phaeton Place, on Flickr

This was one of the first images using my new Canon 1DX and 600 II with 2X extender. I sat out on the edge of a small pond in Sebring, FL watching this fellow go about finding dinner. This a 50% crop.
ISO 1000, 1200mm, 1/2500 sec, f/8. Processed in PS CS6 with Nik Color Efex Pro and Dfine 2.0

    the IQ is stunning.
The light, the pose, the wispy tail feathers are wonderful.
the image just pops off the monitor.

Great pose captured, Mark. I like the raised leg showing off with the yellow foot. Exposure looks OK on my monitor.

Beautiful shot! The exposure looks good. Love the raised leg as well. The darkened background makes the bird pop.

The white bird agaisnt the dark BG is really sweet. Nice walking pose, love the foot touching the water surface. I'm not a fan of the lower dark band along the bottom edge but all else looks good to me.
