    These are a 'listed' species in British Columbia, which essentially means they get some special consideration. I like this shot because you can see the underside of the turtle...I can't decide if the water background is cool or distracting...comments and critique most welcome.

    Love the way we get to see the top & bottom of the shell here. Great job isolating your subject. If I had a wish, it would be for a head-turn toward the viewer, but this image works well as presented.

    BG is AOK and just what I look for with gators. And I agree that see the bottom of the shell is a big plus. Well done.

    Excellent sharpness and I agree that seeing the underside of the shell is a plus. The background is very cool in its own right. Just a photo of the water would be very interesting here. However, for me, the water is so cool that it distracts my eye from the turtle.
