    Default Flamingos in Love

In addition to the red theme, this is also following the mini-theme of red eyes! I am revisiting my photos from India and discovered this pair in synch. After all the usual PS optimization stuff, I added a layer of Topaz Simplify buz sim.

I am also leaving the cold, blustery winter behind and heading to Hawaii on Tuesday. Looking forward to those palms swaying gently in a tropical breeze! Plus birds, etc. to photograph.

Neat looking pair of flamingos, nice effects, I've always found a vertical crop works best for these birds. Best of luck in Hawaii, there are just so many birds out there: Laysan Albatross, Tropicbirds and Nene to name a few, are all birds I'd love to photograph. I will get there some day. Nancy, this is very tropical looking. I like the added reds in their beaks. Have a great trip

Thanks Paul & Cheryl. I hadn't thought about a vertical crop. I started with a pano that included white blobs of flamingos in the bkgd. Then I decided to trim them away, and then trim away some more to my final result.

Good choice for the red theme. I like that the birds are walking into the picture. I wonder about subduing the bg a bit and cropping some, so the flamingos are more the center of focus. Have a wonderful time in Hawaii.

Thanks, Anita. I like your idea of subduing the bkgd some. I'm having a heck of a time deciding about cropping lately. Time for a little vacation in the sun !

I like the crop as is but blurring the background a bit more is a good suggestion. Nice processing. I like the red beaks.

Hi Nancy, I really like the buz sim effect and it works great for these two. Good suggestions above, hope you have a great trip!

Hi Nancy, I love the painterly effect, and the pose of the bird in front. Have a great vacation....looking forward to your posting your images of all the birds you photograph!
