Great shot! My first thought was that it could be cropped tighter, but then I'd hate to lose the "running room" on the right or the wake on the left. And given the droplets above it, I don't think you can crop any tighter without losing something.

    Sweet shot!!!!
Love the pose. Especially the position of the front foot and great wing position.
Terrific comp, I really like the water splash trail, excellent shooting angle, and nice light.
    Well done.

Pretty darn good!! It is so difficult to get a bird tack sharp if they are flying towards you so well done.
Love the front foot and the water trail. You even managed to get the iridescence on the head.
I would try to eek out more brightness in the eye area and clone out the black spot in the water directly in front of the foot. Would also tone down the 4 bright specular drops behind the bird.
I know the following suggestion is very tedious work but I would redo the BG NR and select out all of the drops above the duck so they are nice and sharp and not smudged. The image is worth it,
    Gail

Gail's ideas are great ones. A good amount of work , but this image is worth it. Endless potential with some slight tweeking. Love that foot.

Dan, you know that I love your work, but this one isn't working for me. Love the foot, but I need a better head angle and a better wing position. However, I try to keep an open mind...Gail's suggestions might help.

Hi Dan, love the determined forward 'charging' pose, together with the flying water from behind. Your low angle of capture has worked out well too.

Great take off pose and techs look nice too. A different HA would have been nice but still looks cool to me. Nice work

What Gail said exactly. This is a top rate image, Dan. If it were mine, I'd take a little more time to really bring it up to the next level.
