    Hey Bruce!!

You know for a minute there I thought that little branch was the birds leg and that he was slipping off the perch! *lol*

A pretty bird and the light and BG are very nice. Even though the light is not optimum there is something that works with the pose I guess. It could use a little fill flash if you had some with ou but I don't see it listed. There are some shadow areas you could lighten up in Photoshop.

The big problem is the tail is sliced off...ouch! If you do a quick mask and follow the techniques Robert shows on his CD you could add the end of the tail on and then a little canvas. I would also move the bird over to the left by cropping off some of the left hand side. This would get the bird out of the center and it would look more pleasing.

If he is a regular try some fill flash next time and get that tail in! :D

    Nice job!

    Hi Bruce,
Nice image, but your bird is dead center in the frame. I took the liberty of making some minor corrections where I cropped from the left, and from the top of the frame, boosted the contrast just a little and lightened the image just a wee bit....:D

P.S. Forgot to tell you that the bird has no tail...:eek::eek: Perhaps you should have captured him on a vertical pose...

Great points !! It seems that I fixate on a way I want to present the image..(in this case I felt goosing up the lvs and shadows would add too much noise) then not see that the verticle was the way to go!! The repost looks great Gus!! thanks again everyone :)

Very nice image, love the bg and the soft colors. The tail detail is the one thing. This is something that I've done quite a few times and everyone always points it out to me.
    Regards,
