    Default Gentoo Mother and Chicks

Hi Everyone, It has been a very long time since I have posted in Avian - probably too long. I have started processing my very old images; some you will have seen and they have been reprocessed and most will be new to you.

The image of a Gentoo Mom and her Little Ones was created on Paulet Island, off the northeastern end of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The mother feeds the chicks by regurgitating her stomach contents into her mouth; the chicks feed from Mom's mouth. As you can see they are "in waiting"!

    Cheers, Jay

    A precious photo, Jay.
The chicks are off the wall cuteness factor and the scene just makes envious.
Very well done, post more often!

Hi Buddy, I will! Nice to start playing with the birds again! In fact, I am selling my 5D2 and will buy the new 7D and the new 100-400 when it comes out.
    Cheers, Jay

What a precious family portrait, Jay. Love the included environment and the intimacy portrayed here. I would like to see the birds sharpened a tad more.

Jay, lovely portrait. Like the composition and the expression of the chicks.
