    Same juvenile Golden Whistler from my other post, but this time with a rather delicious looking caterpillar he ate right in front of me

    Canon 7D + 500 f4.....f5, 1/200, ISO 500, + 0.7ev...flash fired, tripod mounted withing a temporary hide.....this one had more PS to it than previous image as the angle is slightly different and showed a large tree trunk in the background, so cloned it out and smoothed backdrop, selective sharpen and noise reduction.

    { just in case anyone's interested I will be offline for a week or so as from tomorrow, I'm heading away to my sisters home about 200klms away, hopefully fitting in some photography as well, with high ambitions to try and photograph a rather rare and reclusive bird called a Western Whipbird ....lots of luck needed }

    I am a little bothered by the OOF focus perch on the left but otherwise very nice capture. Looks sharp and well exposed. Great catch he has!

    Hi Phil - nice catch for both of you. Excellent details and sharpness with a pleasing bg. I do wish the HA was just a fraction more toward you. Good luck on your trip.

    Rachel

    Great!
    Love the sharpness and red eye. Caterpillar also adds to the image. I am fine with the OOF perch. Good job on cloning the tree out of the BG.

    Good luck with the western whipbird!

    Excellent shot, wish there was a head turn toward you though. The lunch adds a lot to the image.

    Good luck with the whipbird!

    Great shot.
    Very nice background and great background.
    The meal is big plus and I dont mind the angle of the bird much.
    Well done.
