    Default Alien in the orchid

I have not been taking many photos because of schoolwork, so when this orchid in my house started blooming I wanted to take some photos. I thought I saw an alien with little beady eyes hiding inside of the center of the flower. This was shot with natural light with an LED fill light. Handheld with my elbows braced on the table.

Model: Nikon D100 Lens: 28-105 Focal Length: 92mm ISO: 800 Exposure: 1/60 sec at f8

My Dad helped me with post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I appreciate all comments and critiques to help further my skill.

This is a lovely orchid Elizabeth and the colors look good on my monitor. You've got some noise in the darker parts of the background (mainly on the left side), so you might try some noise reduction. I would also crop some off the top and right side so as to take the flower out of center. Lovely image!

Hey Liz - Peter's crop suggestion made your excellent photo even better. You've got your exposure just right, love the details. Orchids are so interesting because of the shapes, forms and patterns you can see within them. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Liz......Wonderful shot with a nice clean bg. Your posting could be a bit sharper on the main flower as in the repost from Peter. .....but still very very good. I hope to see more of your work!

Hi Elizabeth. A very nice image - colors and exposure are excellent! The bit of crop and sharpening by Peter make the image even better. Always nice to see you posting here, your images have a very mature quality to them. Hope you find time to post more, after the schoolwork is done of course. We are proud of you and happy to see you following in your father's footsteps!
