Great Gray Owl.

I just can't get enough of this beautiful animal that I've had the privilege to observe and photograph this winter, so here is another image of it coming in for a landing (baited).

Canon 7D + 100-400L @235mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small image rotation then crop for comp, trunk at right darkened to minimize impact. A couple of dark specks in the snow removed via spot healing tool.

The wing spread looks lovely with a lot of details in it, the landing pose and the focus of the bird is nicely captured ,

You continue to amaze with what you can do Daniel. What can I say that hasn't been said? The only nit, and a vanishingly small one, is the the briars on the left, converging with the owl's right wing, might be softened just a little bit as my eye tends to drift over there. It's terrific as is, though. Great shot.

Daniel, can't blame you! This is a beautiful shot with the wing spread and the details of the owl. Love the expression (eager? anticipation?) on his face and the details of the snow on the ground. The shadow is in fact makes this shot very lively.

Another beauty Daniel. This is one of the best of the series IMO. The exposure is perfect and the feather detail is great. The owls wing and body position are wonderful and he is a frame or two from the classic owl pounce. Very nice.
