You were lucky to get such calm water, and you definitely made the most of it! Love the water droplets on the bird's back. Head angle is perfect. Exposure produces good detail throughout. Congrats on a fine image!

I did not know the species at first - taken from the car on the road just as you enter the main refuge and turn left. They were swimming along the edge of the big pond on your right.
Amazing place Bosque is.

Superb image Tom! Sweet light and love the droplets on the bird's back!

Very nice Grebe image.
I am surprised they are at Bosque, they are mostly a coastal bird here, In the Ocean and estuaries.
Very nice water and exposure.

Tom,
Lovely capture with a very nice reflection. I would add a tad of sharpening to the head and call it a day :)

Lovely light and reflection, Tom. Lucky you to see the Grebes during your trip. Not everyone gets that chance. Your image needs some CW rotation. You will note that the tip of your bill does not match it's reflection if you draw a straight line down from one to the other. Love those water droplets.

Thanks for pointing it out. It does need some rotation.
It seems that they are not a regular visitor and if they do turn up it is for a short time.
