For some reason this reminded me of the King of the World scene from Titanic. Taken at Barnegat Jetty on the IPT/Creative Adventure.

    Rachel:

This is a great pose, and yes, I can see the similarity. If the IQ will stand it, I could see a version cropped tighter, to eliminate the small rock on the lower right, with balancing crops on the other sides.

Fun! Glad you had decent weather.

    Cheers

Thanks Randy, I don't think the IQ will support the suggested crop.

Wow, such an excellent pose captured, Rachel. Love the rock and water too. What is the rock covered with?

Great image Rachel. My first thought when I saw it was to eliminate the rock in the LRC. But you have answered that question. I like the water splash the duck & the water is lovely. TFS.

Hi Rachel, an opportunity well used to capture this lovely calling pose. These guys certainly have a lot of varied colours, and you have exposed him well. My first thoughts were to remove the rock in the LRC, and my version would be to just crop up from the bottom. It should hold up.

Awesome subject pose. Actually one of the most animated poses I've seen of this species....just great.
I also think the rock in the LRC needs to go. With the high end gear you used to make this image, I'm wondering
how much of a crop this is, that you think the image won't withstand a tighter crop while maintaining IQ?

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments. Here's a repost cropping out the rock in lrc. This is about a 30-40% crop which is more than I usually like to do.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Repost is lovely, Rachel. You had enough IQ to keep the crop quality up. Love it.

Superb repost. Bird small in the frame works well, and his display of attitude gives this image a life of its own. Very nicely done. And the position of the wave above his head is perfect. There is one droplet of water behind his back that I'd remove as it just looks like a misplaced speck.

Rachel - Great shot. While I like both, I do think the repost is better. Somehow, other than Denise, I think the rest of us missed getting this shot.

Mark got a killer shot of this with his 600. I wanted to steal his memory card but his D4 uses some kind of weird card that I've never heard of before and it seems that I need a custom made card slot to be able to fit it. Then I need to develop the software to read the images off the card. Way too much work, I'll just stick with being jealous.
