    Default Mallards on ice

A mallard pair waiting for spring while standing on the edge of the receding ice on a nearby lake. This image was taken 10 days ago - since then we've had 12 inches of snow so they will need to wait a bit longer. :( 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/1,000, f/9.0, ISO 400. Comments are welcome.

Nice photo Steve! Plenty of DOF to capture the image. The only thing I might do is add some canvas to the top of the image.

I like the mood and it is both to have both in the frame. I might crop a bit off the bottom as the reflection is not adding much.

I like this one a presented. If you crop off the reflection, you'd have people wishing it were there. It is what it is.. a nice winter / spring scene.
