This is a picture of my kitty, Silver, hence the title. After converting to B&W, I darkened the BG and added a vignette. At that point it looked pretty good, but I still felt it needed something, so I added a texture from Shadowhouse Creations.

I don't really look at OOTB very often, but I find this one mesmerizing.
The only thing I would do is sharpen the eyes a bit.
    Very cool.

I like the diagonals, the expression, the tonal range, the texture (of the fur), and the eyes. I think sharpening the eyes would work against the mood of the image.

Hi Christopher, really sweet image and kitty. I love the tight composition and intimate capture. Nice tonal range too. Well done!

How can one resist a cute kitty? Lovely details. Looks good in B&W. I like the texture work. Nice job. Good to see you posting!

Yes, great angle and sharpness. And the eyes catch it, straight into the camera. I think the sharpening of the eye comments may refer to the left eye (Kitty's left, our right). The dark vertical iris (?) is blurring so that it looks a bit like a cataract. Just a bit of darkening might correct that. Great image!!!!!

What's not to like about an image like this. Just a flat out wonderful capture and processing. The eyes don't bother me at all, except for maybe stealing everyone's heart.

The b&W and the vignette work really well. But the lighting on the original pic gives it a classic look. (With an expression like that, I think I know who the boss is around your household.)

This so reminds me of a scene from the "Incredible Shrinking Man, 1957" (boy am I dating myself). The difference is your cat looks friendly'er and nicer. I like the tilted perspective, B &W conversion and framing. Only thing I might do is even out the eyes as bit but just a thought. Well done Christopher

Christopher, we've missed you! This is a great image. I love the tight crop and the edges created by the texture really make the image. The vignette makes me think the kitty is looking through a mouse hole

Thanks a lot for all your comments, guys. Much appreciated! I'd like to do some other photos in this B&W style if only I can find the time to do it.
