    Default Common Goldeneye

The Bay freezes over but small portion of the water is usually kept open by the ever moving Ducks and Swans.
The top of the canvas is a mixture of ice and water.
This image was taken just before sunset.
    Thanks for looking.

A nice sharp image Karl with lovely colored reflections. The tip down of the face works quite well adding a bit of character.

I like the sharpness, eye, visible foot and light. I would take a little off the top. Nice image Karl!

Have to agree with all that's said, very nice image. If you want you could brighten the reflection (viveza control button or layer in ps), might look nice.

Pretty bird, pretty light. Agree with Jim. I'd crop some off the top, the BG is a little too distracting from your beautiful bird. Perhaps try to blur it a little.

    Hi,

I agree with Jim and Lyle re: the crop and bg. I love the colors on the bird's head and reflection in particular.

Another vote for a pano crop with some off the top, but a handsome duck, sharp and very attractive.

Nice shot of this Goldeneye. Exposed perfect and sharp and clear. Looks cold and like the icy water. Nice Job.

    Karl,

Really liking the repost! I can see why they call this species the Goldeneye. Nicely portrayed!

If you can, I would remove some contrast from the bg, as I still find it a bit distracting.

What a gorgeous duck, and you've got her in great light with excellent sharpness. Love the golden hues in the water. Crop helped reduce distractions; wonder whether cropping more for a pano would work.
    Nice work Karl.

Hi Karl, I really like how some species brightly coloured eyes stand out against the darker plumage of their heads, and this guy is no exception. Apart from the 'golden' eye, I do like the golden coloured reflected water. Your repost does work better.
