Default Trumpeter with snow reflection - finally some sunshine on a weekend

This trumpeter was taken landing this past weekend at our local bird sanctuary. So nice to finally see the sun out on the weekend.

What struck me the most about the image was the reflection on the snow.

Advice and comments always appreciated. Several people have commented on the blue cast to the snow on some of my recent images. I have not upped the saturation or vibrance, but didn't try and get rid of it either, as it makes it look colder to me!

    Cheers

Randy, the snow actually looks correct here. With the blue skies it will act like water, but you already knew that. The shadow here is very smooth, sharp and has that Michigan winter feel to it. I like the fact that there is no tracks in the snow.

I love to see the blue cast on the snow. It is natural and that's the way it should be shown IMO.
Excellent image, Randy. Love the pose and the fine shadow on the snow.

To my eye it's a lovely simple winter photograph. I mean as a compliment, there is nothing distracting, just natures beauty.

    Randy,

Great timing on this capture - right before touchdown.

I like the blue. As you mentioned it portrays a "cool" feel, just like a lot of us (myself highly included) use a hint of orange to show the warm in an image. I'd keep it!

Hi Randy, this pose reminds me of the concorde coming into land - not that I had the opportunity to fly in it. Excellent whites on the swan, set nicely against your snow BG, and I would love the challenge to shoot and expose correctly in these conditions.

Simple and elegant; fixing the blues would be insanity, here and always! Very true about the snow behaving like water, good one.

I love the simplicity of this distraction free image. The white on white theme of this shot makes it very appealing.

I'd give the landing a perfect 10. Wonderful shot. I agree about the blue.
