In my opinion the subtle simplify really makes this image top notch. Toning is very nice and just for my taste I might like to see the sail area just a touch lighter( or possibly just whiter) to make it stand out a bit. Just my taste. Very nice image. I'd like to see this printed on a good mat surface paper.

Mitch, you really nailed this one. Beautiful! My only suggestion would be as Dave mentioned, to lighten the sails just a tiny bit. Great work!

Dave's suggestion about lighter or whiter is a good one. The rapidly receding size of of the waves already sets the image up to show a great sense of depth. Adding a low opacity white to the sails and lightening them a bit really brings the boat forward while retaining the colors that fit with the rest of the image.

    Dave,

Thanks for your comments, and suggestion. I think you are right. Here it is a bit whiter and brighter. What do you think?

Mitch, this is a good one! I like the repost with the whiter sails.

A very nice painterly image, Mitch. I like the crisp details in the sailboat and the vintage-like color scheme. I was going to say that the sails didn't need brightening till I scrolled down to the repost and saw how much of a difference it made. It really makes the image pop.

Good one Mitch, the repost really seals the deal. One minor processing issue is a white line down the left edge of the image. Looks like an artifact of some editing step. Good job on the repost!

Beautiful work. In this one the boat and the sea and the sky all work together beautifully. Love the colors. Excellent processing. I liked the OP, and also like the 2nd post. Excellent.

Mitch, this is my new favorite of yours! The sail boat just fits in right... love the receding waves (as Dennis noted). Also, the lighter sails makes the image pop. Excellent work!
