Hello everyone. Here is shot I took this past summer.
I was able to enjoy the company of three of these little guys jumping from branch to branch in search of food.
This particular one came up close to me posed for a couple of quick shots.
The following is the best one l liked.
I know the branch in the background is a tad distracting, but I tried a version without it.
The background just looked to plain and did not appeal to me. I think it gives the pic a bit of depth, but might be wrong.
C&C welcomed and encouraged.

Hi Robert - nice details and pose. I do wish the bird did not intersect with the plant in the bg. I would crop some from the bottom to remove most of the areas of sky showing through. I find that they draw the eye.
Hi Robert, lovely sharp details on this little fellow, great HA, and love the splash of yellow on his face. If you have space, I would try a horizontal comp with a bit more space behind the tail, and some off the top and bottom.
Dont you just love it when you receive different feedback, and then having to decide which one to go for.
Great subject with a neat pose...killer head turn and the leg dropping down adds interest. I realize you feel the BG vegetation adds depth but it also adds distraction to the beautiful subject's face...
Thank you all very much for all the comments and advice.
Here is different crop as per Stuart's suggestion. I also darkened the background just a tad.
Let me know if this one works better.
