Default Daniel Cadieux and 2 Friends

From our trip to Ottawa, a couple of Great Gray Owls came in for a closer look at Daniel. I'm sure he wished he'd had his camera for this encounter!

Wow! What an amazing encounter that must have been! For a sighting like that, I would definitely brave minus double-digit temps.

So what was Daniel feeding them that attracted so close? Live mice?

Ha ha, I remember that...check out the rips they cut through my coat!! (kidding). Mice were used to get them closer for photos but here they just happened to have a slight territorial spat close to me...no one injured :-)

    P.S. ...from Ottawa.

I am curious as to why the focus is on one of the GGO's instead of on the main subject guide extraordinaire Daniel? I did get a little concerned for Daniel for a few seconds during this scuffle although not enough to keep from depressing my shutter button right alongside Doug. :)
