I do like the greens and blues and how they set off the subject and the image is nice and clean. I would like to see the bird a bit more parallel to the sensor in order to bring the tail into focus.

The light is simply beautiful here! I like the pose, the perch and the gorgeous blue bg.
With a 5D3, I would push the iso for more DOF here.
I would crop from below and ease up on the sharpening a tad.

    Hey Rachel,
Sweeet light and BG. Yeah.....pushing the ISO for a touch more DOF would be nice.....but you got some great blues in the BG which isn't always easy at the Jetty! I agree with a bit less base and the more pano comp really suits the pose! Very nicely done!

Was flash used? I get the impression the subject is a little bright, I would suggest a little off the base and a little more on the top.

Thanks all, I'll take a look at the crop. Jonathan - no flash used.

    Thanks again,

Nice natural composition, eye looks great and all looks sharp and finely detailed, a little less green rock maybe and I find it a bit bright/slightly over flashed maybe which to me makes it look a little superimposed on the backdrop

Lovely capture with super details and sharpness! The colors are all awesome together. The large amount on the bottom I do find a little overpowering so agree on a little off of the bottom.

The bird, perch and the blue water all look very nice, Rachel. Love the moss covered rock as a perch. I would put the the bird a little lower in the frame.

Hi Rachel, love the light in this, sharp, and you have captured good overall detail. I do like the moss covered rocky 'perch'. With regards to your repost, due to the Turnstone's pose looking slightly downwards, I would maybe have a liitle more room at the bottom than the top.

Hi Rachel. I love the blue and green colors, and the turnstone's pose. The repost works better for me. I also felt the bird looked just a bit bright.

Thanks Karl, Bill and Faraaz. Faraaz, I trust you are much warmer in Trinidad than we were on the jetty too!

Oh yeah! The day after I flew back in was spent shirtless in celebration of the warmth of the Caribbean sun!

Very nice. Like the repost better. The colors are beautiful and I like orange feet against the greens. Well done.
