A hard one to photograph, as they are rare, hard to see, and constantly moving. However I was able to catch this one out in the open recently on the Atlantic Coast of NS. It's a pretty heavy crop already, and even though there's quite a lot of habitat I didn't want to degrade the image quality any further. What do people think?

D7000, 300 + 1.7TC, hand-held, 1/1600. f/6.7. ISO 800. Cloned out some greenery up against the bird. Crop in LR. Levels, noise etc. in PSE.

    Thanks for looking,

    Richard

Hello Richard , I find most of the photo well executed . The pose, the placement,catch-light in the eye ,All are good points . The one thing that stands out on the negative side is the over sharpening . There may have just not been enough pixels remaining after the crop to share the fine feather detail .

Richard; I feel the crop is too severe, and IQ subsequently poor. Hopefully, next time you can get closer. regards~Bill
