Another Bufflehead, a non flight one I liked.
A little carried away with the SS, but I think it worked for the Flap.

The head on this guy is beautiful. I wish the head was turned slightly more but nice as presented. The wing flap is cool and I like the blue water and reflection.

    Dan:

Very sharp, well exposed, excellent details, good shooting angle. Nice comp.

If I pay the shipping, will you send a few of these guys out to me? I am really envious!

    Cheers

    Hi,

The high SS worked well to keep the bird sharp, including the wing flap. Great colors and detail. I too would like a slightly more lateral head angle, but you got what you got beautifully.

Love this one Dan. The head colors came out so well and I like the wing position. Would prefer either seeing the other eye or just a tad head turn away. You got it just in the middle. Still love it

SO difficult to actually capture the iridescence in Buffles... fantastic. And their "wing flaps" are pretty quick too! I like how the black and white body here balances the head colors. Not sure if you could get a "better" HA... their heads are pretty weird-shaped anyway. Great shooting angle. (how did you get him to "smile" at you?)
