Leeds Point is one of our favorite spots in the South Jersey wetlands. This image was captured from the deck of the Oyster Creek Restaurant and given a touch of Fractalious.

I can see why you like Leeds Point. The scene is wonderful, and I like the composition, especially that sweeping curve. For me, at least, the texture of the foreground water seemed to be distracting attention from the rest of the image. I duplicated the layer, blurred it, and used a mask and soft brush to reveal the blurred water at reduced opacity.

Thank you Dennis. I like the re-post quite a bit. I may need to re-visit the file and see what I come up with. Thanks for your time and effort.

Hi, Dave, I love the composition and the fractalius adds a sparkly look to it that I like. I think Dennis has a good idea about the water.

Very nice, Dave. Lovely scene. I actually quite like the texture in the water.

Hi Dave, I'm going with liking the detail in the water also. The composition is very strong, and I like the tonal contrast of the image. I like the crisp, well-defined edges and the interesting things that Fractalius did with the image. Nice one!

I like the compostion with the sweeping curve. My preference is the original image.

I really appreciate all the thoughts. I can go either way on this one. While I do like the sort-of pencil sketch crispness of the original, I also like the contrast in detail from structure to water provided by Dennis's re-post. It's never easy is it :-)

I like the image very much, very interesting subject and nice composition. I like Dennis' version best, but the OP is certainly excellent as is. I make a lot of sunset photos at a big lake here where the water is usually choppy and I always mask it from detail and sharpening filters at least 50%, sometimes 100%.

I too like Dennis's repost. It really keeps the focus on the curve and the effect on the buildings... Excellent processing!

A lovely image. Great subject and composition, with that curve leading to the horizon. The B&W presentation allows the many lines, shapes and textures to stand out. I agree with Dennis about the water in the foreground being a bit distracting--I might tone it down less than did Dennis. Nice work.
