Default DOOR FROM LATE 19TH CENTURY SOD HOUSE

My paternal grandfather was born in this central North Dakota soddy in the late 19th century. Most of the house is still standing. The image is of the only remaining interior door. I have been playing around with some of the filters and effects described in Denise's book. I did not think the Orton effect would do much for this image. To my surprise, Orton perked it right up. A bit of Denise's texture recipe was applied. C & C appreciated. I would be interested in the approach others would take with the image.

I like blue and brown together, so I was inclined to like it from the start. It got better from there. The processing you did complements the subject perfectly. There's wonderful texture, and having the side with the door lighter than the other side seems fitting. You did a beautiful job on this.

Gary, I wouldn't change a thing The textures work well and I think the touches of blues and yellows add something to the image. Nice work.

I too like the textures in this image. You really nailed it composition wise and the processing is top notch.

Good solid image and use of filters Gary, I wouldn't change a thing either. Thanks for sharing!

I love old things like this and you've done a wonderful treatment!

I'd clone or crop the tiny white triangle in the UL corner. I never see things like that until I've posted an image.

Amazing that this sod house still stands. Wonderful that you can visit and photograph it. I like the simplicity of your photo, the many textures, the colors. I think you did a super job.
