    Hi There

This shot was a bit of an experiment for me but let me run you through what I did. I was playing around with a set of Kenko extension tubes on a 300mm F2.8 lens + 1.4TC. So this is with all 3 tubes (12mm 20mm 36mm) stacked together behind the 1.4.

It was on a tripod but no mirror lock up or remote release, the light was very low so upped ISO to 1600 and shot at F11 at a pretty dodgy 1/80th

Quite pleased with the result, the OOF green is some moss growing up a tree in the background which is why the extension tubes were needed to get close enough to the bird for the moss to be all that was in the background

A very interesting experiment......and I appreciate all the details. I think it worked quite well, too. There is nice detail and color. I guess if I'd want anything, it would be a little more sharpness on the tip of the beak...but that may be just downright picky. Well done. You realize that you're tempting me with that 300mmL!!!

Nice going John I think I see you in the reflection of his eye. I appreciate hearing the details of things to try like this once I am ready to step out of the box a little more. A beautiful Raptor capture.
