    Nick:

I like the birds pose, your low shooting angle, the subdued color palette.

I find the mass of out of focus vegetation on the left a bit overpowering. If it were further separated from the bird, that would help. If possible, moving to your right slightly at the time of capture could have helped with this separation. You can help a bit by cropping from the left to reduce the mass, and then a bit form the right to balance the image.

    Cheers

    Very nice shot.
I really like the pose, exposed very well, great shooting angle, and nice background.
The oof to the left is a bit distracting. Other than that...
    Well done.

I love the pose of the bird and the relaxed mood of your subject. Agree totally with Randy on the vegetation beside the bird, but what you have included in the background adds such a nice touch of color. I believe that this image could benefit from a bit of clockwise rotation.

Agree with the OOF weed on the left - Also cut off feet. Lovely looking bird with nice color and sleeping pose.

    Great BG and pose.
I like the blues and tans and whites in this image.
I just wish that OOF seaweed wasn't there in the FG.
I see a need for some CW rotation,

    The bird looks great.
I just think a bit of a crop from the left and off the bottom would lessen the FG impact.
The color is nice and the exposure looks right on.

Very nice sanderling shot Nik and it would appear it was taken in sunlight I have almost forgotten what it looks like! I like the sanderling pose, I would consider perhaps consider a tad more contrast. The seaweed on the left is a bit of a show stopper, I would consider some careful cloning so it was only 1/2 or 1/3 the current size.

Thanks for the replies. I have given the repost a little clockwise rotation, Cropped from left, right and a little from bottom and given the bird only Nik tonal contrast fine at 50%
