I already new what I wanted when I took the shot, as there was no real colour in the sky and this female Leopard was just hanging out. Thought the B/W would be a change.

I like this high key presentation Steve. Well thought out and executed.
    Nice tonal range as well.

Hi Steve - wow a b&w from you! Nice detail and sharpness as usual and the high key works for me. I do wish for a slight head turn more towards you but also like how this accentuates the slope of the head which you wouldn't see with the head turn. Love the big paw hanging down.

    TFS,
    Rachel

I like this a lot - the dropped paw, texture of the wood and the B & W works for me.

Great image Steve, like the comp, and conversion is spot on, nice hi key kind of effect with good tonal range in the leopard itself.

    Hi Steve,
even if i am not that much fan of B/W, understand what you were looking after.Think in color it looks quite boring, this is kind of interesting sculpture.
Like the comp and the relaxed pose of the subject.Nice tonal range in the leopard.

Only issue for me are the more or less visible halos around the branch and in parts around the leopard (wide one in front of the face ). Sloppy masking.....!!!???.

But still a nice B/W image.

    Cheers Andreas

    Thanks folks.

Andreas you are right, but with an almost white BKG you wouldn't normally see at this size, however you missed the abundance of dust bunnies too, sloppy masking indeed.

I like the conversion and tones. I would like to see a landscape crop if you have it. I am not sure if you had clutter on the left that needed removing. I love the pad on the left front paw!

    Hey Steve,
Good observations above and I too think it works. The paw is very interesting and like Rachel.....I too wish for a bit more head turn.
