I like everything about this--varied background, low shooting angle, sharp, detail in blacks and whites, and the water droplet is my fav

I like the fact this image is taken at a low angle with the sun directly behind you. You have done well to have kept the detail in the whites, I love the blue and green hues in the background and the drop of water adds a nice touch Cheryl.

Exquisite. Love the layered parfait BG, the pose, water drop, low POV. I don't usually argue for removing highlights from the bill, but in this case the one bright one on the upper mandible (and its reflection) seem to be a bit distracting.

    This is lovely Cheryl.
Great low POV and I like the open bill and water drop.
IQ is excellent and I love that layered BG.
Whites show lots of good detail thanks to the lovely exposure,
    Gail

    Wonderful shot!!
Excellent low angle, love the layered background, great pose, whites handled very well, and nice details.
    Very well done.
I did not think the highlights were a big deal, but after seeing the repost it does make a big differance.
    Lesson learned.

Nice job removing the highlights, Cheryl. I think it looks better. But it was a wonderful image from the start. Your low angle, the action, the perfect exposure, the wonderful BG colors, and that beautiful bird. Great job.

You did a great job working these avocets, Cheryl. Lovely details in this bird and love your low angle, slightly open beak and water droplet. The problem with removing the highlight, is that now you are left with their reflections in the water.

And now looking at the op I decided to leave the hilite because I do like the reflection but feel maybe I can tone down the reflection just a teeny bit.
