I didn't get the name of this plant. Photographed in the conservatory at Longwood Gardens.

Processed in Elements 10: clone; Dust & Scratches filter; selective saturation, high pass and lightening; Topaz Adjust; CEP> Color Stylizer (first time I've used it); Kim Klassen texture Love applied 4 times at different settings, and her texture 1412.

    Comments and critiques welcome.

I like this a lot. The colors work very well together, it has great texture, and the composition is good.

Anita, I love the lighting on this one and the colors work really well together, including the black lines in the green. Nice one

Wonderful composition, Anita. I like how those curved lines of the leaves from the center. Beautiful light and colors... the texture adds a lot to the image.

Outstanding composition and colors in the image, plus I love the textures you used. I seem to have a hard time choosing textures for my images that look "right"

Thanks, Judy. I'm glad you like my image.
Choosing textures is hit or miss, trial and error, for me. Sometimes I come up with the right combination. Sometimes nothing seems to work. I think the textures you used on your Windmill photo work beautifully. They created the mood of older times, and gave depth to the image.
When there is a border on a texture and I don't want it to be included in my final image, I pull the edges of the texture out beyond the edge of my image so as to eliminate the border. Sometimes, I smooth a texture, or clone out lines or specks I don't want. Texture work is time consuming.
Be encouraged, you are doing good work.

Anita, you certainly have a way of bringing out the personality of a flower. Very nice work indeed.

Lovely processing, Anita. I think it's some sort of bromeliad.

Very pretty Anita, I love the texture and the warm colors. You have some very strong compositional elements in the flower and bracts which work really well together. Nicely done.

Thank you Dave, Maureen and Kerry. Maureen--a Bromeliad sounds right.
