    Default Gadwall at First Light

Shot this guy literally as the sun came over the horizon this morning. I was at a wildlife refuge in East Arkansas I have been frequenting. This is the first time a gadwall has come near me. Shot him from my homemade groundpod/skimmer thing with wimberley head attached. C&C appreciated, I have followed from afar and learned a ton.

    Techs:
    Nikon D7000
    200-400 f4 with 1.4
    ISO 1000
    f/5.6
    1/160

Nice low shooting angle and eye contact.
The background looks too bright and the duck is dark.
You could try to use Shadow/Highlight tool for the whole image, or selectively darken the bacground and brighten the duck.

Excellent ultra low POV, and good HA on the Gadwall (a species that eludes me). The morning light gives this a nice feel, but the BG seems to dominate.

Agreed. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll fix that BG.
