    Default Greetings from Northern Michigan!

Hi! I'm Sandy and I live in the Traverse City area of beautiful northern Michigan. I just became a member today. I first would like to thank the owners, mods and members for truly making this the best Site on the Web.

I am a small Signage biz owner as well as the owner of a local bird/nature website. Have been studying the posts, images, critiques and learning resources on BPN for awhile, and am so impressed with the talent here.

My photography and "study" passion is Loons. Have been fortunate enough to observe Loons on a daily basis for the past 10+ years since I live on a lake. Also love other waterfowl and the occasional "little bird"...oh, can't forget our local Eagles and other raptors.

Although I spent a lot of time in "front of" and "on the side" of cameras (as a PR person and Communications/Marketing Manager), I've only been behind the lens for a couple of years.
I am hoping to productively contribute to the forums and learn even more. So great to be here!

Big welcome to BPN Sandy and what a pleasure to "meet" and learn about your interests. You are so lucky to have the loons so close by on a lake and to have the opportunity to study them. I look forward to seeing some if your images and please don't feel shy about participating.

Thanks Marina! You are one of my "hero's" here. Your images, talent and perseverence are so admirable. I'll work on getting an image or two worthy of posting... in the meantime, I hope to contribute some feedback. Appreciate the warm welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome, Daniel! I either thank (or blame!) Loons for getting me back into photography. (and, I'll leave my window open at night...even in an April snowstorm... so I know when they arrive...) Love your work! I look forward to participating!

    Hi Sandy,

I was checking out your profile to see if you had posted any images. I am an intermittent participant on BPN these days, but I wanted to add my belated welcome to you, along with Christopher, Marina, and Daniel. I am sure you have many Loon images-would love to see some. I am also in the process of writing my story about the Loon on the beach on my WordPress blog. I will send you a PM with the details when I am finished.

Thanks for your welcome, Julie! (and your PM!) Will LOVE to see your Loon blog when it's ready! I have (literally) hundreds of Loon images from the past ten years.... I only recently "graduated" myself to a DSLR, after spending a few years NOT using the "auto" on an adv. P/S. Really enjoy your work. I hope to get at least a little gallery going here soon! Keep in touch... let me know if you might be visiting MI sometime!
