Got this image of a kudu cow in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, South Africa...

Almost full frame - only tilted it to get those EARS aligned. Burned the BG slightly on a levels layer to make her "pop"...

    Canon 50D and 100-400mm L lens at 275mm
    1/500s at F5.6 and ISO 200

Nice portrait Rudi, although i like what you have done to the bg it has made her pop a little too much and look a little unnatural, i would suggest either back off on the burning on the bg a tad or drop the brightness and highlights on the Kudu, she also looks a little over sharpened.

Hi Rudi - nice detail and the open mouth is great. Good suggestions by Brendon for improvement but overall a very nice portrait.

Nice portrait, I agree with Berndon about over sharpening and backing off will bring out lovely detail I'm sure.

I like the 'squared' look. Nice detail and pops nicely from the busy BG.
I agree that the sharpening is just a bit overcooked.

    Hi Rudi,
good designed portrait, with nice detail and contrast and colors.

I think with a tad reduced sharpening and one round of mid tone contrast on the subject , could look even a bit better.I would try to reduce the sat in the greenery.

Shame that the BG is that busy.

    Hey Rudi,
Excellent observations above and the minor tweaks will take this up a notch.
