Default Someone who shouldn't be here :-)

A few weeks ago, this little fellow showed up in my back yard. He really seemed to like my old crab apples! He played around with this one for about 20 minutes, and was not affraid to come close to me at all :-)

According to my Ibird App, this mockingbird shouldn't really be in my part of Canada, especially in winter.

    Charles -

I like the head angle, the slightly open beak, and the orange crab apple (which helps bring in some color). Also looks like you had some very nice light!

For me, though, it's a bit tight in the frame. I would add some to the right and top of the image.

    Hi,

Even with the repost I still feel it's a bit tight in the frame. I like the splash of color provided by the apple, but the dynamic range of the bird is too high - the tail has no detail in the shadows, and the breast lacks detail in the whites - probably from reflection from the snow. Should be a way to at least improve the situation in pp. Nice eye contact and sharpness. BTW where in Canada are you? Here in NS Mockingbirds are mostly winter visitors, although there are a few breeding records too.

Thanks Richard for the great feedback. I accidentally uploaded the wrong file to my account, so the image you see is basically the same as before. I'll upload the other one tomorrow afternoon :-)

I am in New Brunswick, in Moncton :-)
