I'll start the theme off with an image of buildings in downtown Tampa. I used Nik Silver Efex Full Contrast and then a linear curves adjustment. I tried using different fish eye effects in Topaz Lens Effects but didn't come up with one I liked.

I have no idea what the theme is, but I sure like what it inspired you to do. The composition is super -- especially with the opening in the upper left, and you achieved a nice range of tones. I have no idea how you got the clouds into the right position, but they add a lot to the appeal.

Thanks, Dennis. The clouds did it all by themselves

Hi Cheryl, wonderful composition and I love it... the clouds really add to the image. Great way to get the weekly theme started!

This is an excellent B&W image. The placement of buildings and shapes works beautifully. I like the curve at bottom right balancing the sky upper left. I tend to think of sky and cloud reflections being in color, but they are beautiful in this image--they seem to be silver.

What a great eye for composition you have Cheryl! I also think the clouds add a lot of interest. Nice work!

This is well seen, Cheryl. You have straight lines, curved lines, solid areas and great reflections. I wonder what that reflection is on the right hand edge? The black/white approach gives this image a cohesiveness that makes it interesting and effective. The clouds add another interesting layer of contrast.

Agree with above, esp differing cloud reflections. That small white building sneaking up in the middle also is a good touch to keep that long area of sky from being just a rectangle. Great comp!

    Strong composition. Good b&W tonality.

I agree with all of the above, the lines, clouds, buidings all make for a solid composition. Well done.

I love architectural photos in B&W and this one really catches the eye. Nice job on the conversion and the capture is super. Love it!
