    I haven't seen this bird posted for a while. This is from my NM trip, taken not far from Busque, where you can find it as well.

    Great eye, like the crest and chin up pose. I agree with Peter that it is a bit bright for my taste.

    Good choice using a little fill under these lighting conditions to try and get a little light into the shaded areas.

    I really like the BG and the perch.
    Love that red eye and the crest is nice as well.
    The light was pretty harsh here and you lost the detail in the blacks of the belly and tail.
    I would reduce the overall brightness a bit in the BG and burn the perch,

    Wonderful image of beautiful bird.Very nice pose with great HA,lovely red eye and crest.
    I like the perch,two toned BG and composition.

    Lovely posture and perch, love that red eye and crest and very nice two tone backdrop...yes to be a little too bright imo

    did what I could, linear burning, linear dodge and darkening the whole image with the exception of the bird.

    Hi Karl, love the blues, and red eye on this fellow, and against a cool two tone BG. If this were mine, I would remove the 'loose' branch in front of the main perch.
