Male Ring-necked Ducks are paring up in the Sackville Waterfowl Park. I was there yesterday evening and captured a group of back-lit males. I toned down the water with Ps Shadows and Highlights and brightened up the eye a little. Still don't like the harsh water and I would have liked the males a little farther apart.

Well done considering the difficult lighting. I might crop a bit off the bottom and am not so sure about the OOF bird.

    Hi John,
You did have many things working against you including the lighting. that being said, I think the OOF rear bird would have been acceptable with more separation between the 2.

Many thanks for comments. I chose this one to post because of the OoF bird behind the main subject. I have plenty of others with a clear backgound. Of course I will be out for the next few months with these and other species in our local wetland. Sometimes it's fun and educational to try something a little different and get the array of reactions that it normally prompts.

I love juxtaposition images but agree with your self critique: the rear bird needed just to be about two inches farther back in the frame. My only additional suggestion would be to Patch Tool out the white thingie at the waterline in front of the rear bird.
