Overexposed approx 2 stops, then corrected exposure in ACR. This reduces digital noise by avoiding capture of dark tones that are most susceptile to digital noise (basic ETL protocol ). Light pass of NR with Topaz deNoise. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Some friends and I were just discussing this annoying bird yesterday (they're everywhere here to the point of being annoying). I think your exposure looks good. You're able to see the blues, but they seem flat and not iridescent as I see in person. The overcast light would account for this, but to me, seeing that much blue without the light that brings it out, seems somewhat unnatural. I like the background a lot, save for the one clump underneath the tail feathers. Overall, it's a very nice image.

There's a lot to like here - the pose, the framing, the sharpness and the background are all great. I agree with Jeannean, the overcast lighting make this bird look a bit flat. It really has a great iridescence in good lighting. Also, I think I can still see some noise in the feathers.
